OUTCOMES OF COVID-19 DURING PREGNANCY: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Objective: This paper presents specific pregnancy outcomes of COVID-19 during pregnancy, based on the literature available until August 2020. Methods: A systematic review was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, Springer, Science Direct, and EMBASE database publications regarding coronavirus disease (COVID-19) following PRISMA checklist. The search terms used include: “pregnancy”; “pregnant”; “neonatal”; “neonate”; “COVID-19”; “coronavirus 2019” “pregnancy”, “pregnant”, “neonatal” “neonate”. All studies exploring maternal fetal among pregnant women with were considered for this review. Results: total 11 case reports 17 12 retrospective reviews medical records 795 meeting inclusion criteria included Of 362 deliveries, 59.3% involved caesarean sections [CS] while 40.6% vaginal deliveries. 22.37% preterm. 51 neonates, 20% found to have low birth weight one tested positive SARS-CoV-2. nine neonatal deaths reported, which not associated viral infection, 15 neonates be positive, although no indication vertical transmission infection established. Conclusions: Pregnancy does increase risk prospective mothers should follow same recommendations as applicable general population, limit COVID-19. Information compiled COVID-19-related may help planning best care future.
